WaterFire Providence announces the launch of ArtLab@WaterFire: Creative Labs, a new and free art workshop series for families of all ages to ignite their creativity and make art together. Hosted on weekends at the WaterFire Arts Center (WFAC), these workshops are available to kids and families of all ages and will be taught by local artists in the Rhode Island community, including artists from WaterFire Accelerate.
Attendees and their families will have a range of different activities to choose from, including jewelry and ornament making as well as knitting. Each workshop will be hosted in the Cityside at Wheeler Studio on the second floor of the WaterFire Arts Center. This program is an expansion of ArtLab@WaterFire, a one-year paid internship and mentorship program for young BIPOC males to learn about the arts & culture industry funded by the Papitto Opportunity Connection.

About the author
I've worked at WaterFire Providence since 2003. For the first 9 years of my career, I worked in the Production Shop learning all of the details that go into the physical production of the event. In 2012 transitioned to the role of managing WaterFire's social media and web presence. I now head up WaterFire Providence's digital projects including, web, social, databases, and our physical IT infrastructure.
