Windows are in!

It has been weeks of installation, but finally, the WaterFire Art Center has its new windows! Insulation around the windows is still being carefully fitted, but the final facade of the WaterFire Art Center is finally coming into place and looking fine! The panels of plywood which look similar in size to the windows are protecting the spaces that will hold the new doors. Plumbing, electrical, and drywall are now being installed, and things are shaping up nicely for the FireBall Fundraiser coming up in November! Interested in joining us in a celebration of our new space and getting a look in person? Check out the FireBall webpage for tickets to the event, which will feature the sights and sounds of WaterFire, food, music, and dancing, and will raise funds to support WaterFire events and community programming.

Tim Blankenship, newly appointed Director of Special Projects, is a 22-year veteran of WaterFire and a steadfast advocate for the organization’s mission to unite the community through shared artistic experiences. Having worked across multiple departments, including a decade in production and recent years with the creative services team, Tim brings unmatched institutional knowledge to his new role. He will focus on strengthening internal systems and supporting the creation of new visitor experiences at both the downtown installation and the WaterFire Arts Center.

      If you are interested in hosting an event at the WaterFire Arts Center please WaterFire Providence’s managing director Peter Mello at peter@waterfire.org. If you are just looking for more info about upcoming events at the Arts Center you can find updates on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/waterfireartscenter/. As the building is still under construction we do not currently have any public event scheduled. An event calendar will available here next year. We are expecting the building to open in March 2017.
