New Staircase!

The final touches! One of the WFAC’s signature elements, the large staircase to the second floor, was being installed today. After it receives its final coat of bright red paint, the staircase will be tying in the different Mondrian inspired colors that highlight the building.

Who, what is Mondrian? An influential painter of the early 20th century, Mondrian’s bold canvasses of divided color shook the art world when they were first displayed publicly. His revolutionary style helped define the palette chosen for the WFAC. Existing yellow columns and strong vertical and horizontal division of the WFAC by structural steel make the similarities between Mondrian’s work and the space clear.
