WaterFire Providence worked with RIDE to connect with students around Rhode Island to create their version of Starry, Starry Night painted by Vincent Van Gogh and to include a wish of their own. Some of the students' creative art work was shown during The Second #StayHomeWaterFire. At any full WaterFire Lighting luminous blue star lanterns are suspended in the grove of trees in Memorial Park. Beneath the beautiful blue stars are hundreds of luminaria candle lanterns flickering on the lawn. Visitors are encouraged to add their light to the night and wish upon a star. Wishes are written on a white ribbon and attached to a luminous blue star, which is then hung amongst the trees in the constellation overhead for all to view and enjoy. Dedications, memories, and hopes are also shared, visitors write on cards that are placed with luminaria candle lanterns in the grass below the stars.
