Construction – Phase 1, Week 6

In photos from early this week, you can see the progress that has been made in placing the Arts Center services beneath the ground. The oil and water separators for the wastewater collection system have been buried, the electrical has been laid in the trenches, and the new front parking lot is being steamrolled. If you haven’t gotten a sense of the scale of the building, these backhoes are dwarfed by it and I can fit inside one of their buckets easily! For an interesting historical perspective, check out the buried railroad track and tie uncovered from the back parking lot. We actually have a few of the old spikes saved from the track’s removal.
