Private Visions, Public Ideals – The Legacy of Howard Ben Tré

Coming in January 2021 to the WaterFire Arts Center.

WaterFire Providence is pleased to present an exhibition in honor of the life and legacy of Howard Ben Tré at the WaterFire Arts Center (WFAC). “Private Visions, Public Ideals – The Legacy of Howard Ben Tré” show will run from January 27, 2021 – March 7, 2021. In addition to the regular WFAC hours, the exhibition will include a series of receptions and talks.

WaterFire Theater Under The Stars Brings Live Theater and Film Screenings to the Valley Neighborhood

The WaterFire Theater Under the Stars is the second-largest outdoor theater in Rhode Island and the first of its kind in Providence. Peter A. Mello, managing director and coCEO said, “In the spirit of the Governor’s ‘Take it Outside’ initiative our goal is to provide a safe experience for all Rhode Islanders by offering a wide variety of arts programming for the community at the WaterFire Arts Center.”

WaterFire Providence’s New Flame millennial initiative sponsors emerging artists to participate in new ArtMart, pop-up artist markets at the WaterFire Arts Center. “We are so excited to introduce New Flame sponsored artists to our new ArtMart events. Fire Flowers and a Time Machine – Flores de Fuego y una Máquina del Tiempo

Presented October 1-17 outdoors at the WaterFire Arts Center and the nearby American Locomotive Works campus, ‘Fire Flowers’ is a bilingual performance event directed by Shey Rivera Ríos and featuring work from fifteen performance artists on topics from immigration, ancestral inheritance, and our current moment.

ArtMart, new pop-up artist markets at the WaterFire Arts Center

WaterFire is committed to transforming place and building community. Recently, our staff has been focused on creating new and safe events inside and outside the WaterFire Arts Center. ART MART is a new outdoor pop-up art market that aims to support and connect artists with the community by providing a safe venue to sell their work.
