Event Details

On the third Thursday of the month (March – November), Gallery Night Providence (GNP) curates multiple timed trolley tours organized with partner galleries. All are welcome to explore the galleries on their own too, GNP Galleries, or see what GNP has put together for monthly suggestions to ‘Make Your Own Tour‘.

At 6:00 p.m., join mixologist, Willa Van Nostrand in the gallery at the WaterFire Arts Center for a special garden-to-glass experience where she will activate INFLORESCENCE, a multi-tiered hand-blown glass fountain created by glass artist Eva Goodman, in an experiential performance. Guests are invited to participate and taste a contemporary iteration of aqua vitae (Latin, “water of life”), a ceremonial beverage dating back to ancient Roman times. The elixir, inspired by the coming of spring here in New England, will feature local flower essences, edible blossoms, Rhode Island maple syrup, hand-harvested sea salt, and the option of spirit.

This month, Thursday, April 18, one of Gallery Night Providence’s trolley tours will leave the WFAC at 6:30 p.m. and visit the David Winton Bell Gallery, the RI Center for Photographic Arts, and then return to the WaterFire Arts Center. Free parking is available in the WaterFire Arts Center parking lot and attached ALCO parking lots. Reserve a spot for this 6:30 p.m. tour leaving from the WFAC.

Our new office gallery, thanks to collector and supporter, Joseph A. Chazan, M. D., is on view as well all evening.

On view this month in the WFAC gallery is ART is Everywhere, ART inc., a Rhode Island PBS Exhibition, bringing the essence of Rhode Island PBS‘ short-video series ART inc. from the screen to the gallery. Delving into the heart of human expression, the series illuminates the transformative power of art—from its ability to soothe and inspire to its role as a catalyst for societal change. Learn more about the exhibition, here: waterfire.org/art-inc.

The gallery is open until 9:00 p.m. every Thursday night.

Visit gallerynight.org for details on all their available trolley tours, on the third Thursday of each month, including reserving your spot ahead of time on the timed tours.

The WaterFire Arts Center store + gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
