WaterFire would like to thank the Johnson & Wales Men’s Tennis team, lead by Devin Kitterick, Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach and Johnson and Wales student, for helping WaterFire do some important preparation leading up to WaterFire’s 2013 season. Over 10 members of the team plus their coach Adam Spring joined WaterFire for 3 hours on Tuesday to help stack firewood. Stacking the wood will help keep it dry so it burns brightly during the upcoming WaterFire season. The process of keeping our woodpile dry and organized is an important part of creating the spectacle that WaterFire is known for. Devin has worked with WaterFire throughout his time at Johnson and Wales and was open to volunteering any way they could help. Johnson & Wales is a frequent partner of WaterFire with many students, residents halls, teams, and clubs volunteering at WaterFire lightings and other events throughout the year.
WaterFire is always looking for new partners in higher education at the event, during event preparation, and other forms of service-learning throughout the year. I've worked at WaterFire Providence since 2003. For the first 9 years of my career, I worked in the Production Shop learning all of the details that go into the physical production of the event. In 2012 transitioned to the role of managing WaterFire's social media and web presence. I now head up WaterFire Providence's digital projects including, web, social, databases, and our physical IT infrastructure.
