Tech Night at WaterFire will bring together some of the most innovative and fastest growing technology companies in Rhode Island. The goals of the event are to increase awareness of local entrepreneurial and employment opportunities in technology, promote networking and collaboration among technology industry employees, and showcase some of the innovative products and services being pioneered in Rhode Island.
WaterFire Providence is excited to welcome Virgin Pulse as a first-time sponsor and the founding lead sponsor of Tech Night at WaterFire. “By sponsoring Tech Night at WaterFire, Virgin Pulse is both supporting one of the state’s most cherished public arts organizations and also helping to shine a spotlight on the growing and dynamic technology sector of the Rhode Island economy,” said David Osborne, CEO of Virgin Pulse. “This event sits at the intersection of community, economic development, and technology – which aligns perfectly with Virgin Pulse’s new role as a major high-tech employer in downtown Providence.”
Virgin Pulse is joined by founding sponsors Slater Technology Fund, eMoney Advisor, and Ximedica.
The Slater Technology Fund is an evergreen, not-for-profit seed fund dedicated to supporting new venture development in Rhode Island. “Slater and the technology companies we fund and support are constantly attracting talent. Fortunately, Providence is a fantastic place to build a company, and at WaterFire, Providence showcases itself in a unique fashion. We’re proud to participate,” said Thorne Sparkman, Managing Director. “Slater is proud to join with Virgin Pulse and other innovative local companies to co-sponsor WaterFire’s Tech Night in celebration of the dynamic technology community in Rhode Island.”
“eMoney Advisor opened an office in Providence in the summer of 2017 and has hired nearly 90 people since. A leading provider of wealth management solutions to the nation’s top advisors and firms, eMoney is a tech company at heart and thrilled to be part of the tech scene in Providence. Tech Night at WaterFire is the perfect opportunity for eMoney to engage with both the tech scene and broader Providence community,” said Joanna Armandi, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications at eMoney.
“Ximedica, a full-service ISO 13485-certified and FDA-registered medical device and diagnostics product development firm, is proud to partner with WaterFire as a sponsor for the 2018 season. Headquartered in Providence with offices in Hong Kong, Minneapolis, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley, Ximedica has provided a unique growth platform enabling organizations to successfully deploy medical technology products into the market for over 30 years,” said Randall S. Barko, Executive Director.
The event will also feature contributing sponsors Bay Computer Associates, Bridge Technical Talent, LLC, IntraCity Geeks’ CareerDevs Academy, Tech Collective, and VoltServer.
Employees and invited guests of the sponsoring companies will gather for food, drinks, and remarks from prominent speakers who will discuss their vision of the future for the technology ecosystem in Rhode Island.
All WaterFire attendees are invited to visit the Tech Resource Fair along Steeple Street, which will feature an array of job and training opportunities within the tech field alongside interactive and informative displays.

Could you please suggest the best place to park and then a realitvly short walk to a area that my wife and myself could stand and watch. My wife’s ability to walk far are difficult due to her cancer diagnosis, and I’m fairly new to the state, we moved to RI to fulfill my wife’s dream of living close to the ocean.

Hi Bill, a good parking solution for you will the Citizens Plaza parking lot. It is a paid lot, but it is very close the event (feet away from river) and offers easy access to the riverwalk. Check our Plan Your Trip to Providence Guide for more parking info and a map of the installation.
Also you can park for very cheap at the providence place mall. Close and doesn’t cost tons of money!
