Hello. I am inquiring as to whether this years, January 6th, Inauguration at the Waterfire, will be similar to the RI city’s Inauguration held in 2010, where they [in addition to the basin being lit], there was about 100 torches that also illuminated the basin circumference which by the way, made my BIG Birthday that much more special. Or will there be solely the basin fires that will be lit. This inquiry response is time sensitive and appreciate you earliest response possible so that we can plan accordingly.
Thanks,
A Grateful Waterfire Fan

This event will be similar to the 2010 event. Not quite so many torches. Also the braziers will be lit all the way up to Steeple Street (Café Nouvo). Happy Birthday!
ps. Make sure to dress warmly if you decide to come.
Hello Laura!
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Inaugural WaterFire celebration in 2010! This evenings event will be similar with the “Ring of Fire” as well, which is what you explained. The lighting ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. which includes the Governor and Officials processing into the basin and lighting the wood boats and then the Governor will start to light mounted torches that will be lit around the circumference of the basin. The lighting will end at 9:00 p.m.
I hope you are able to join us and this event is another great birthday present!
Happy Birthday!
Best,
Laura A. Duclos

The date is saying Tue January 6th, but the 6Th is a Wednesday I believe
Perhaps you are looking at the wrong year on your calendar. January 6th, 2015 was a Tuesday; January 6th, 2016 is a Wednesday. There are WaterFire lighting event yet scheduled in 2016. Sorry for the confusion.
Hi Tim. Will there be a New Years Eve event in Dec 31 2015? If not what about another inauguration event on Wed Jan 6 2016?
Thanks Kim
Hi Kim, this is last event until next season. Look for the 2016 season schedule in April.
