A Holiday Celebration at WaterFire

WaterFire Providence and Mutual of America Financial Group in partnership with the United Way of Rhode Island, is please to present a Holiday Celebration at WaterFire benefiting Children’s Friend and Rhode Island’s Salvation Army & Marines Toys for Tots. We are working to help collect toys for over 5,000 Rhode Island families.
The Holiday Celebration at WaterFire event will feature a Santa’s Village where kids young and old can visit Santa Claus, get their photos taken, and send off their letters to the North Pole. Santa will be arriving by boat in Waterplace Park shortly after sunset and will be ready to hear your Christmas wishes at 5:15 p.m.
The LaGondola Providence Singers will begin a choral performance of classic Christmas songs on the Waterplace Basin stage from 3:30 -4:00 p.m. A Silent Soapbox’s Winter Fairy character will be in the park from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. greeting visitors and posing for photos. Festival Ballet will be dropping in to visit with three of their characters from The Nutcracker from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Families can receive a coupon for $2 off skating at the Providence Rink at the BankNewport City Center. The coupons will be available at Santa’s Village and from WaterFire volunteer greeters in Waterplace Place Park starting at 3:30 p.m. A holiday themed ArtMart will open in Waterplace Park at 3:30 p.m. and there will be food trucks serving hot cocoa and other wintertime treats.
Food vendors will include: Saugys and Red’s Street Kitchen on Finance Way, and Greg’s Kettle Corn Express in Santa’s Village (adjacent to the IGT Building). Our Holiday ArtMart vendors will include Becorns Fine Arts Photgraphy, Vitamin Sea & Co, Regina Hogan Photography, The Greek Gardener, Odetta’s, and WaterFire Accelerate artists Jared Winslow, Sydney Sousa, Ysanel Torres, and Kiera Costa.
SANTA’S VILLAGE COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS: To ensure everyone’s health and safety Santa will be wearing his mask and all visitors wishing to speak with him must also be masked (regardless of vaccination status). Children will be seated next to Santa not on his lap. Thank your understanding and assistance in keeping everyone safe and healthy.
The Holiday Toy Drive at WaterFire
The Holiday Toy Drive at WaterFire benefiting Children’s Friend and the Marines & Salvation Army Toys for Tots, is seeking donations of new, unwrapped toys and games that will be distributed this holiday season to over 5,000 families across Rhode Island. We are asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys, games, and books suitable for children ages 0-12 years old. Gifts for children aged 0-2 years are in great need. Used toys, games, books, will not be accepted. Please do not donate toys that looks like realistic weapons; they will not be distributed.
