Gallery Night Providence: Thursday, June 20, 2024

Visitors are invited to Gallery Night on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

On the third Thursday of the month (March – November), Gallery Night Providence (GNP) curates multiple timed trolley tours organized with partner galleries. All are welcome to explore the galleries on their own too, GNP Galleries, or see what GNP has put together for monthly suggestions to ‘Make Your Own Tour‘.

This month, Thursday, June 20, one of Gallery Night Providence’s trolley tours will leave from the WFAC at 6:30 p.m. and visit The Gallery at Sprout CoWorking, La Galería del Barrio at the Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island, and then return to the WaterFire Arts Center. Free parking is available in the WaterFire Arts Center parking lot and attached ALCO parking lots. Reserve a spot for this 6:30 p.m. tour leaving from the WFAC.

At the WaterFire Arts Center there are two exhibitions open, both downstairs in the gallery and upstairs in the WaterFire offices.

• When I Get Home a group exhibition by the 2023-24 WaterFire Accelerate Cohort is on view this month in the gallery. Ranging across a wide variety of media, these six artists: Kannetha Brown, Sydney Darrow, Emily Gray, Andrea Pascual, Adolfo Peralta, and Leiyana Simone Pereira, unite their collective interests in their roots, grief and growth. • From the Chazan Collection, artworks are on view and for sale upstairs in the new WaterFire Office Gallery, thanks to collector and supporter, Joseph A. Chazan, M. D., 100% of the proceeds of any sale he will donate to WaterFire Providence.

Visitors are encouraged to come early or stay after the trolley tour to visit TroopTop Thursday, a summertime rooftop bar at the WaterFire Arts Center. Proceeds from TroopPVD‘s signature cocktail go to support WaterFire and its programs, like WaterFire Accelerate. June 20 has sets by DJ Sissy and DJ Timmia as well as an opportunity to mix and mingle with local artists during ‘Club Sol‘ a summer solstice celebration and artist networking night presented by WaterFire Accelerate artist, Leiyana Simone.

The WaterFire Arts Center gallery is open until 9:00 p.m. Thursday nights all year round. Regular hours of the WaterFire Arts Center store + gallery are Wednesday – Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
