TroopTop Thursday, June 20 at the WaterFire Arts Center

TroopTop, a rooftop bar at the WaterFire Arts Center, on Thursday, June 20 is from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with sets by DJ Sissy and DJ Timmia and the exhibition on view in the gallery is When I Get Home by the 2023-24 WaterFire Accelerate Cohort.

Join us for this special version of TroopTop with ‘Club Sol‘ a summer solstice celebration and artist networking night presented by WaterFire Accelerate artist, Leiyana Simone.

In addition to TroopTop and Club Sol, it’s the June Gallery Night in the city. Gallery Night Providence has organized a timed trolley tour that leaves the WaterFire Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. visiting two other arts spaces and stops back at the WFAC, tour-goers are encouraged to come early or stay after the tour to enjoy the music, sips, and art.

TroopPVD will donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of their specialty cocktail to WaterFire in support of the WaterFire Accelerate program. WaterFire Accelerate is a year-long professional development program for arising artists under 30 that is specifically devised to grant access to resources that will further participants’ artistic careers. The program immerses young artists in areas beyond those presented by conventional art school experience by utilizing meetings, workshops, site visits, and discussions. The community is invited to TroopTop Thursdays at the WaterFire Arts Center every Thursday this summer, through August 29 (except for July 4 and July 25). WaterFire Providence and Valley neighborhood restaurant, Troop PVD, have collaborated to create a rooftop bar with live musical performances and arts experiences as well as a fundraiser for the featured non-profit organization of the night. TroopTop is supported by Brady Sullivan Properties and the US Rubber Lofts, Cross Insurance, and Boston Document Systems. Programming for each evening is presented by Little Guy At The Gig. Complementary popcorn from our friends at UNFI Cafe PVD.
