WaterFire Providence’s 2014 Volunteer Photography Group:
I’ve been a WaterFire volunteer since 2007. Capturing WaterFire events on video is especially fulfilling since it provides those who attend the events with a way to relive the experience and, it can be used to spark interest in someone to come for the very first time.
A native of Providence, RI now living in Portsmouth, RI. Semi-retired Electrical Engineer. Enjoys volunteering at South County Habitat for Humanity and hiking throughout RI. A member of the WaterFire Photography Team since 2011.

I take pictures.
I am a photographer, videographer, image-maker, storyteller and environmental advocate. I feel very fortunate to live at a time where we have access to digital tools and technology that allow us to take our art form to a new level. I believe that of all the paths we may take in life we should make sure some of them are dirt!
A lifelong photographer with a fascination for light, creative composition and interesting storytelling. My digital days were preceded with some fun film and darkroom work and a bit of video production. My interests range from architectural composition to nature and wildlife; mixed in with human interest and documentary projects.
I have been fortunate to find myself accepted at some juried shows and as an award winning film documentarian. I love to write and am currently involved in an exciting art related business venture here in Providence; having moved here in December. My professional background includes business development, event production, social media consulting and entrepreneurial endeavors. My passion lies in design, the arts, music and I am excited to be able to volunteer my services for WaterFire; and to help the growth and development of Providence and Rhode Island.
Lifelong recreational photographer. Love to tell a story through photojournalism, events and travels at home in NE, across our country and abroad.
I started the hobby of photography about 3 years ago, have loved macro shots but also like taking pics of landscapes. I am not a professional rather one who does it for a hobby. I also belong to PSRI. I am still learning but have some natural knack for it.
“There are no words.”

I am very grateful for the opportunity to help commemorate and celebrate this amazing event that has literally set our city on fire.
Hello! My name is Emily and I’m a Senior at Bridgewater State University studying Photography and Art History. Having grown up going to the events, I am very excited to be a photographer for WaterFire Providence this summer. I’m looking forward to a great season!
I am a college geography professor and emergency management professional who lives in and loves my hometown of Providence, Rhode Island. I take pictures for close friends, non-profit organizations, and local charities and have never taken a dime for my images. Photography is a labor of love for me and I have been doing it for over 35 years. My focus is the great city of Providence and all of the wonderful people and things within it.
Photography has been my hobby for quite awhile, but I started spending more time in the profession over the past several years. School portraits, weddings, dances are all part of my portfolio, though my preferred subjects are reflections in landscapes and nature.
