Looking for a memorable way to connect with friends, students, or colleagues this summer? The WaterFire Arts Center (WFAC) offers an ideal destination—especially during our current large-scale exhibition, Growing the NetWorks, on view now through August 31, 2025.
Spanning 15,000 square feet of space, this expansive exhibition showcases the work of over 60 Rhode Island-based artists through painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, and installation. As part of a two-year initiative featuring more than 170 artists, Growing the NetWorks celebrates the connections, mentorship, and creativity that define Rhode Island’s vibrant visual arts scene.
Whether you’re an educator, community group leader, or just someone looking to gather a few friends for an arts outing, the WFAC is a welcoming and enriching space for shared exploration. Groups are invited to discover the exhibition at their own pace—or to go deeper through a guided tour, which offers opportunities to learn more about the artists’ practices and the peer-nominated spirit behind the show.
Interested in bringing a group?
- Free, self-guided visits are always welcome during open hours: Wednesday–Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM, and Thursday evenings until 9 PM.
- Guided group tours are available on weekdays and must be scheduled in advance by contacting Emily Gray at emily@waterfire.org..
- Tours typically take place Wednesday–Friday between 10 AM–5 PM, during regular gallery hours. With advance notice, we may also be able to accommodate your group on a Monday or Tuesday.

Over the last 10+ years, alongside some incredible co-workers and volunteers, I've worked to build the organization that WaterFire Providence is today. As Director of Creative Services, my team and I work on visual communications, graphic design, the visitor experience, merchandising as well as project management for programming at the WaterFire Arts Center. Being a part of the 'Rhode Island' experience for tens of thousands of people is incredible and I have an intense pride in place for both Downtown Providence and the Valley neighborhood.
