“Horizon Healthcare Partners is proud to sponsor WaterFire and the Check the Stigma Hockey Classic which is scheduled for the next day, Saturday, July 15th at Providence College Schneider Arena. Both events highlight the importance of mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention efforts in Rhode Island,” says Cliff Cabral, CEO of Horizon Healthcare Partners.
Cabral further emphasizes, “Check the Stigma will support the work of the seven behavioral health organizations that make up Horizon Healthcare Partners including Child & Family RI, CODAC, Community Care Alliance, Galilee Mission, Newport Mental Health, Tides Family Services and Thrive Behavioral Health. Together we can ‘check the stigma’ and ensure that all Rhode Islanders have the opportunity to live their best lives and have access to services that assist them with mental health well-being, the treatment of mental and substance use disorders, and support for those in recovery from these conditions, along with support for their families and communities.”
Horizon Healthcare Partners will have 10 information booths around the basin of Waterplace Park where visitors can speak to representatives from their own organization and others like Aware Recovery, The Cavanaugh Foundation, and Blue Cross Blue Shield, or hear more about the weekend’s festivities around Check The Stigma by chatting with Bobby Farnham, The Providence Bruins & Providence Bruins Fan Club, and perusing through Check The Stigma Auction booth.
