WaterFire is committed to transforming place and building community. Recently, our staff has been focused on creating new and safe events inside and outside the WaterFire Arts Center. ARTMART is a new outdoor pop-up art market that aims to support and connect artists with the community by providing a safe venue to sell their work.
Mask wearing and physical distancing (6′ away!) is required of everyone – at all times. ARTMART is a smaller scale market allowing for more space between artist tents and for visitors. Free parking is available in the ALCO parking lots adjacent to the WaterFire Arts Center, 475 Valley Street. The entrance and exit will be set-up for one-way traffic. All vendors, staff, volunteers, and visitors need to answer COVID-19 pre-screening questions before entering. (Here’s a helpful guide from the Governor’s REOPENING RI plan.)
ARTMART will be held outside the WaterFire Arts Center for three Saturdays in November the 7th, 14th, and 21st, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Twenty local artists will be selling their original, handcrafted, and affordable art. Shop and support local artists and WaterFire by coming to buy art! Apply online for our November ArtMart events.
The store and gallery at the WaterFire Arts Center are open weekly Wednesday through Saturdays, Noon to 6:00 p.m. On Saturdays, when we have a scheduled ArtMart, the store and gallery will open early at 10:00 a.m.
Thank you to Governor Gina Raimondo and Rhode Island Commerce for their continued leadership, guidance, and support of the arts and culture industry and the entire Rhode Island economy while keeping the health and safety of Rhode Islanders first. WaterFire Providence is proud to be creating arts programming with the support of the “Take It Outside” initiative encouraging outdoor commerce and activity in an effort to reduce the transmission rate of COVID-19.
