Edward B. Cabral joined WaterFire Providence as Manager of Sponsorships and Corporate Relations. Cabral brings to WaterFire decades of leadership experience in sales, marketing, and corporate sponsorship. He previously served as executive sales director at the Providence Journal Company where he developed and executed all digital and print advertising sales strategies, working to build successful relationships with a wide range of local, regional, and national corporate clients.

We are excited to have Ed aboard leading our new #Art4Impact campaign to celebrate 25 years of WaterFire transforming place and building community in Providence,” said Peter A. Mello, managing director and coCEO. “We are entering an exciting and important period for the organization and it’s great to have a leader of Ed’s caliber on our team as we continue to grow our significant community impact for our second 25 years.”

A native of the Azores, Cabral grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts and currently resides in Providence. He and his husband, Tripp Evans, are both active in the arts and culture community.

Cabral will be connecting local, regional and national businesses and corporations with meaningful opportunities to engage audiences and meet marketing and business objectives through WaterFire events downtown Providence and activities in the WaterFire Arts Center in the Valley/Olneyville neighborhood.

I've worked at WaterFire Providence since 2003. For the first 9 years of my career, I worked in the Production Shop learning all of the details that go into the physical production of the event. In 2012 transitioned to the role of managing WaterFire's social media and web presence. I now head up WaterFire Providence's digital projects including, web, social, databases, and our physical IT infrastructure.

  1. Hi Tim,
I would like to introduce myself. I live in Hardeeville, S.Carolina. Hardeeville is one of the fastest growing cities in S.Carolina. Unfortunately, it has no city identity. Whereas the nearby communities of Bluffton, Buefort, and Hilton Head all have thriving tourism, Hardeeville is undeveloped.
An ongoing survey indicates that 30% of the residents who answered the survey wanted to see a festival come to Hardeeville. We are positioned to become a major port city, geographically, but
Nearby Savannah is doing it’s best to keep that from happening.

Allan Redfern has been kind enough to talk with me on several occasions about bringing Waterfire toHardeeville. As time goes on perhaps we may have a chance to meet to discuss this project.
    Jody Babbits.
