The “lend your hand” photo project in memory and celebration of Sunil Tripathi

WaterFire Providence is pleased to reach out in support of Sunil Tripathi’s family to honor and celebrate their son. The family was greatly moved by the outpouring of support from the community during the two-month search for their missing son. In converting their loss into a larger response to the need for better support for all members of our community, the Tripathi family has created an international dialogue about these issues called the “Lend Your Hand” photo project.

Hundreds of people in Providence, across the US, and around the world have shared words of love and support for Sunil Tripathi, for the Tripathi family, and for one another.

The Tripathi family wish to thank the entire Providence community for the support and outreach:

We have been so moved by the gentle, creative, and loving response from the Providence community in our time of need. These hands laid together are a powerful reminder of how fragile people can be and how powerful and beautiful the bonds of community can be. Thank you for lending your hands in memory and celebration of our beloved Sunil, in honor of our family, and across the entire community.

Please join us in the tent on the College St Bridge to view 600 of the many images received by from around the world submitted in support of Sunil and his family. The tent will be open from 5pm-10pm.
