Capturing the Art of WaterFire!
WaterFire Providence is excited to be able to cultivate a means for local photographers to join together in an exploration of the art of photography at one of New England’s most significant art attractions. Volunteer photographers quickly absorb the knowledge of WaterFire Providence as an organization and become a key component to capturing the event on so many different levels, from performers to the firelight on volunteer faces. Their photos make up an unbelievable collection of images that tell the story of the event and organization which we are able to share with our visitors and supporters.

As we prepare for our full fire on July 4th, we look back at our salute to veterans last fall. Photographed by #PaulDarragh, one of volunteer photographers. Paul has the wonderful skill of capturing the intimacy of human made moments. With a keen eye and excellent timing, we’re so grateful to be able to work with Paul here at the WFAC.
Don’t miss our monthly photography meeting! Join us next Tuesday, July 9th, to go over photos from the most recent fire and to welcome some of our newest members! We’ll see you there, and on the river this Fourth of July 🇺🇸🎆

Some of @backman.tom’s wonderful portraits from the Brazier Society on June 1st! As photographers, we know how difficult it is to make pictures of people smiling, beaming in this case, in fleeting moments in public spaces. Tom has a gift for making people feel comfortable and making them look wonderful behind the lens. We all have so much to learn from him and are happy to have him on board!
If you want to be a part of our talented group of individuals who capture the beauty on the river, please consider signing up for a volunteer position on our website:
https://volunteer.waterfire.org!
If you want to meet the team behind capturing these moments, join us on Tuesday July 9th at the WaterFire Arts Center for our monthly photography meeting, where we will collaborate on resolving technical challenges and provide constructive feedback on the images we create. It is a wonderful opportunity to engage with our vibrant community and collectively enhance our photographic skills.
