October 2020! ArtMart Connect Artists with the Community

It’s time to visit the Valley. Take a stroll (or bike ride!) to the Valley neighborhood from Downtown or drive (if you’re further away) and park in our neighboring lots thanks to The Foundry. Walk the Woonasquatucket River and wind over to the front parking lot of the WaterFire Arts Center to meet community artists and buy their work; including emerging artists sponsored by our New Flame millennial initiative and neighboring artists from The Steel Yard.

ArtMart is a new outdoor pop-up art market that aims to support and connect artists with the community by providing a safe venue to sell their work.

Artists and makers are showcasing their latest work: October 3, October 10 and October 24, 10am to 4pm. Continuing ArtMart markets into November is currently in the works, stay tuned. Artist vary each event.

Mask wearing and physical distancing (6′ away!) is required of everyone – at all times. ArtMart is a smaller scale market with one-way traffic allowing for proper distancing and more space for all. Please stay home and get better if you’re not feeling well; we recommend answering these COVID-19 pre-screening questions before coming. (Here’s a helpful guide from the Governor’s REOPENING RI plan.)

Free parking is available in the American Locomotive Company parking lots adjacent to the WaterFire Arts Center, 475 Valley Street.

Over the last 10+ years, alongside some incredible co-workers and volunteers, I've worked to build the organization that WaterFire Providence is today. As Director of Creative Services, my team and I work on visual communications, graphic design, the visitor experience, merchandising as well as project management for programming at the WaterFire Arts Center. Being a part of the 'Rhode Island' experience for tens of thousands of people is incredible and I have an intense pride in place for both Downtown Providence and the Valley neighborhood.
