Tonight’s lighting is a gift to you from

WaterFire Providence 

Quoting Barnaby Evans, "Like every other arts group, we are struggling financially; but our mission is to use the arts to enliven the City of Providence. We felt we had to keep the fires burning to make it a bright New Year’s Eve. I am delighted our staff, volunteers, and donors have stepped forward to make a lighting on our 15th anniversary possible."

WaterFire & Bright Night will be filling downtown with festivity!

The fires will be lit shortly after sunset at 5:30 PM. The Waterplace Basin fires will remain lit until 12:30 PM. The 12 fires in Memorial Park will remain lit until 12:15 AM. 

Weather Updates: 

(Updated: 12/30/09 1:06 PM): Come down and celebrate with us this New Year’s Eve!  The temperatures will be in the 30’s with a chance of a wintry mix of snow and rain, so bundle up in your winter gear and come enjoy the celebration!
