Job Overview:

WaterFire Providence, one of the leading creative placemaking practitioners in the country, is currently seeking an individual to join its Event Day Staff. Working as part of our Event Staff under the direction of the Director of Events & Operations, this individual will be intimately involved in the coordination and production of all full WaterFire event lightings and special events produced by this world renowned arts organization. The WaterFire Event Day Staff Team Member position will report directly to the Director of Events & Operations. Along with assisting in general event production and event support, this individual will work with the WaterFire production team responsible for but not limited to: reception coordination, volunteer management, electric installation, lighting & audio installation, event logistics, fire safety, and crowd control.

As a member of the WaterFire Event Staff you will also be involved in the setup and coordination of all WaterFire Providence event lightings including tent installation, boat wrangling, on shore station set ups and other event related art installations. Event Staff members also play a key role on our Special Ops team helping set up and organize many of our sponsor torch processions and other event surprises. If you enjoy non-stop, fast paced event coordination, this position will keep you moving. Position will require for you to work with and lead our volunteer teams during events to accomplish the many ongoing tasks at hand. The individual in this position must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills along with following directions closely. Must be a team player with a tough skin! The position also requires attendance at all full WaterFire event lightings (10-13 events from May through December). This is a part-time seasonal position for 15-30 hours during the week of an event.

Requirements and Qualifications:

The desired candidate should be responsible, flexible, personable, and overall fun to be around. You must have the ability and interest to work long hours outside during events in any type of weather. We ask that you can comfortably and safely lift and carry at least 70 lbs and that you have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. This position at WaterFire Providence also requires a candidate with basic computer skills including experience using Google Drive.

Compensation:

Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications. $10 – $12/hour
